For venues

An independent, verifiable record, kept in storage you own.

Nox records your venue's public order book, trade and funding channels, seals every UTC hour into a hash-chained record, and delivers it into a storage bucket you own, so you, and anyone you share it with, can see which messages Nox received from your venue and when, and check every hour against its hashes and the hour before, without access to Nox's systems.

What it gives your venue

  1. 01One record to share. When a partner, a data aggregator or a researcher asks for your venue's public market data for a given hour, you share that hour as Nox recorded it, and they can check every file against its hash and the hour against the chain.
  2. 02Recorded from outside.Nox FZE, a company independent of your venue, runs the recorder on its own systems and receives your channels through your public interfaces, as any outside client would; each hour is delivered into a storage bucket you own.
  3. 03Nothing to build.Nox sets up, runs and maintains the recorder to your written specification. Your side is a storage bucket you own, a write-only key to it for Nox, and your instructions by email.
  4. 04An unbroken chain of hours. From the first pilot hour, every hour has a manifest, including an hour in which Nox received no messages, so the chain grows by 24 hours a day and never skips one while the record runs.

The record.

A recorder dedicated to your venue captures the public channels you publish, on the instruments you choose, byte for byte as received. Beside the raw trade and order book messages sits a normalized form with no rounding and no unit changes, in which every row references the raw message it came from. Every message carries the time Nox received it and, whenever an authenticated, current clock synchronization allows one, a stated maximum error of that time against UTC; the hour's manifest discloses when any message lacks one.

Sealed every hour.

Each UTC hour is sealed and delivered into a storage bucket you own within 15 minutes after it closes; if your bucket or the recorder is unavailable, the hour arrives later, and the object times in your bucket show when. Every hour has a manifest, even an hour with no messages, so the record never skips an hour. Every reconnection, and every gap Nox detects in your venue's message sequence, is listed in the hour's manifest; no message is altered, estimated or filled in.

  • trades — raw, byte for byte · normalized · manifest
  • order book — raw, byte for byte · normalized · manifest
  • funding — raw, byte for byte · manifest
  • each manifest — every file of its channel's hour and that file's hash · every gap Nox detects in the sequence · every reconnection · the root of 12:00–13:00 UTC
  • root — the hash of a manifest, carried by the same channel's 14:00–15:00 UTC manifest

Checked independently.

Each hour has a verification root: the hash of its manifest, which lists every file of the hour with that file's hash and carries the root of the hour before. You, and anyone you share the record with, such as a partner, a data aggregator or a researcher, can recompute every hash and the whole chain with openly available tools, without access to Nox's systems or yours; a change to any file changes its hour's root, which then no longer matches the root the next hour carries. This root shows only that the hour is unchanged since Nox FZE sealed it, and which messages Nox FZE received from the venue's public interfaces and when. It gives no opinion on the venue or on its markets, volume, statements, controls or systems.

Scope.

Perpetual and spot instruments. Event, outcome and prediction contracts are outside scope and are never recorded.

How it starts.

Every record starts with a 30-day pilot on the instruments you choose, at no fee. The record then continues for a monthly fee set out in a written order form. The order form also sets out how you may cite the record: each citation that names Nox FZE states that your venue commissioned the record, and carries the statement above.

In writing.

Email contact@noxfze.com with your venue and the instruments to record. Nox works in writing: the order form, the storage setup and every report arrive by email.
